The grape varietal Merlot is characterised by an early maturation, it is the first one to bring ripped and sweet berries. The grape varietal ‘Merlot’ earns its name from the ‘blackbird’, in French: ‘Merle’, a small bird particularly greedy for Merlot-berries.
